AMANDA LAWTON, NP-CAmanda Lawton is a board certified adult and gerontology nurse practitioner originally from Upstate New York. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing as a nurse practitioner from Boston College. She first took an interest in gastroenterology during a rotation in bariatric surgery. She worked as an NP for several years at a large gastroenterology practice in Albany, NY before relocating to Virginia. She has also worked in the specialties of physiatry and pain management. Her clinical interests include irritable bowel syndrome and celiac disease. Amanda describes her philosophy of care as a partnership with patients to help them reach new levels of health and find greater meaning in their lives.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys running and spending time with her husband, son and rescue dog. She has a special appreciation for members of the military, as her husband is a Lieutenant in the Navy.
