JENNIFER WU, M.D.

Jennifer K. Wu, MD is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.  She is the newest member in our practice and joined in 2013.  She grew up in the Northern Virginia area and went to University of Virginia for both college and medical school.  After graduation and being in Virginia most of her life, she decided that she needed to experience other areas of the country, so she went to Boston University for her internal medicine residency.   She then went to University of Pittsburgh for her gastroenterology fellowship.  After being away from Northern Virginia for many years, she decided it was time to move back with her husband and son to be close to family and friends.

Although English is her first language, Dr. Wu is very fluent in Mandarin Chinese.  Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders, esophageal disorders such as GERD and swallowing difficulties, and gastrointestinal health maintenance such as colorectal cancer screening.

In her spare time Dr. Wu and her husband, both self-proclaimed foodies, enjoy experiencing different restaurants.  She also enjoys cooking.  She is a loyal Red Sox fan, which she picked up while in Boston, especially since she lived in the Fenway neighborhood during her years there.   She also loves tennis, and her dream is to eventually attend all four Grand Slam tournaments.  Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her husband and chasing after their very active toddler son.
